BRISTOL — After taking losses to Honaker, Patrick Henry, and Marion to start the 2023 football season, the Pioneers are at .500 for the year. After a 24-14 victory at John Battle on September 29th, Lebanon (3-3) has three wins in a row. John Battle (1-4) has dropped four in a row after a season-opening win against Abingdon. The Pioneers have averaged almost 34 points a game while allowing only nine in the three wins.
The Trojans were within striking distance, trailing only 17-14, when Lebanon got some breathing room. Sophomore quarterback Mike Reece plunged in from four yards out with 9:59 remaining for the margin of victory.
Carter Dillon had a three-yard TD run and booted a 28-yard field goal. Dillon was also 3-for-3 on extra points. Reece threw a 16-yard TD pass to Toby Baker.
Braxton Emerson (four-yard run) and Brayden Emerson (two-yard rush) scored Battle’s touchdowns.
