Aiden Dye, a junior at Honaker High School, has been selected to perform with the Madison Scouts, one of the nation’s premier marching band ensembles.
This is the second straight year the Swords Creek native has been named as a member of the elite group.
Along with some of the best students in the nation, Dye will take part in the 2025 Drum Corps International Summer Tour. The tour includes more than 80 competitive events in stadiums across the nation from June until Aug.
The culmination of the tour is the DCI World Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana on Aug. 7-9.
Based in Madison, Wisconsin, the Madison Scouts recruits performers from more than 35 states and two countries each year. The Drum and Bugle Corps includes 165 performing members selected from an audition process that spans the course of several months and reaches close to 800 participants.
“Being a scout was easily one of the highest moments of my life,” Dye said. “But being in it twice is a dream I’ve never been more grateful for.”
Dye plays tuba for the Honaker High School marching band.
In addition to being a member of Madison Scouts, he has previously been selected to the Virginia All-District Band and been selected to the Virginia Tech Honors Band.
Dye has also displayed exceptional skills as an athlete. He is a member of cross country, indoor track, and soccer at Honaker High School. He is also a member of the high school robotics team and an active member of the Swords Creek Community Baptist Church.
