Aaron Lowe will be the head football coach for the Honaker Tigers in 2025 after leading the Tigers on an interim basis last season.

Lowe coached the final three games after taking over for Shane Wicks and went 2-1.

He guided the Tigers to regular-season wins over Northwood and Rural Retreat that clinched the team the Hogoheegee District title for a second straight year and lost a first-round Region 1D playoff game to Grundy.

Lowe is the third head coach in four years at Honaker after succeeding Wicks. Todd Tiller coached the team during the 2022 and 2023 season.

Prior to that, Doug Hubbard helmed the program from 1983-2021.

Lowe is also the head boys basketball coach at Honaker and previously coached at Richlands. He graduated from Iaeger High School in West Virginia in 2004.

“Absolutely a dream come true,” Lowe said. “Football has always been just a big part of my life. Now I have the opportunity to be the head coach at a program with so much great football tradition.

“My family and I are greatly appreciative and excited for the opportunity to lead this program. Want to thank [Principal] Mr. [Tony] Bush and the administration for allowing me this opportunity.”
