The Honaker Tigers continued to rule the Hogoheegee District as they clinched the league’s regular-season title with a pounding of Patrick Henry.

Julianna Farmer led the Tiers with 12 points and seven steals.

Kalli Miller played a super all-around game with 10 points, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals. Alayna McNulty’s 13 rebounds and Dani Whaley’s 11 points were also vital to the victory.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Patrick Henry 99, Honaker 36

Cole Caywood and Kolin Gobble were honored as part of Senior Night festivities on Tuesday. It turned out to be a record-setting night for the Patrick Henry High School duo.

Caywood poured in 50 points and Gobble dished out 16 assists – both single-game program records – as the Rebels hammered Honaker for a 99-36 Hogoheegee District boys basketball victory.

“It was a night for our two seniors,” said PH coach Fred Selfe. “The focus was on them having the ball in their hands and they made the records happen. Special accomplishments with two great seniors.”

Caywood was 22-for-34 from the field and 5-for-8 from the free throw line. He also went for nine rebounds, one steal and one block.

Facilitating many of those scores was Gobble, who had a double-double with 10 points and also tallied three steals.

PH also received 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists from Cade Caywood, while Jeb Stewart recorded 12 points, five rebounds and two steals.

PH made 41 of its 66 shots from the field and collectively had 27 assists. Levi Honaker led Honaker with 10 points. The Tigers had 31 turnovers.
