Carey Keene tossed in 21 points as Honaker hammered Rural Retreat to take over sole possession of first place in the Hogoheegee District.

Julianna farmer added 14 points for the Tigers, who put the game away with an 18-3 run to close the first half.

Freshman Brody Allen had the best game of his young varsity career with 18 points, 13 rebounds and six assists as the Rural Retreat Indians earned a Hogoheegee District victory.

“We are asking a lot from Brody,” said Rural Retreat coach Dewayne Morris. “He’s young and tonight it all clicked for him. He keeps getting better and better as the season progresses. He is a team player who wants to win.”

Trever Shelton added 13 points and seven rebounds in the win. A 30-7 run to end the first half put Rural Retreat (4-13, 2-3) firmly in control.

“Total team win,” Morris said. “We are proud of the team.”

Levi Honaker led the Honaker Tigers with 14 points.
