Kathryn Jessee, the daughter of Matthew and Brandi Jessee, is valedictorian of the 2024 Honaker High School Senior Class. Kathryn “Kate” Jessee received the DAR Good Citizen Award, the Jefferson Book Award, and the Woodman Life History Award. She has been a member of the SCA, the Beta Club, FBLA, FCS, GATE, the Spanish Club, and the Art Club. Kate played varsity volleyball, varsity basketball, and varsity soccer for three years. She was selected as WCYB Scholar Athlete of the Year. Kate plans to attend Clemson University to major in pre-professional health studies. She wants to be a pediatrician.
Isabella Lowe, the daughter of Billy and Melissa Lowe, is salutatorian of the 2024 Honaker High School Senior Class. She is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. She has participated in FBLA, the Beta Club, Upward Bound, the Spanish Club, the Art Club, and FCS. She has been a varsity football cheerleader for three years and a varsity basketball cheerleader for two years. She has played varsity soccer for two years. Isabella was selected as varsity football cheer MVP. She was also selected as captain for the varsity football and basketball cheer teams. Isabella plans to attend Southwest Virginia Community College in the fall. She plans to major in sonography with hopes of becoming an OB/GYN Sonographer.
Valeigh Rayne Stevens, the daughter of Rick and Jessica Stevens, is third in her senior class. Valeigh received her Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from Southwest Virginia Community College. She has been a member of the FBLA, the Spanish Club, and the Beta Club. Valeigh plans to continue her education at Penn State University.
Alexia Ray, the daughter of Melissa Ray and Shannon Ray, is number four in her senior class. Alexia was selected as a QuestBridge National College Match Finalist. She was also on the Southwest Community College Honor’s list. She has been a member of the National Beta Club, FBLA, the Spanish Club, the Art Club, SOAR Virginia, GATE, and the SWVA Future Leaders Academy. She has also been a member of the varsity soccer team. Alexia plans to attend the University of Virginia to study political philosophy, policy, and law on the pre-law route.
Zoë Street, the daughter of Carolyn and Greg Street, is number five in her graduating class. She is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. She has participated in FBLA for four years, the Beta Club for three years, the Art Club for two years, and the Spanish Club for two years. She has been a member of the varsity soccer team for four years, the varsity golf team for three years, and the varsity track team for two years. Zoë plans to attend the University of Virginia to obtain a bachelor’s degree in biology and plans to be on the pre-medicine track.
Parker Bandy, the son of Mark Bandy and Lindsey Bandy, is number six in his senior class. Parker was selected as class president. He was recognized as Bristol Herald Courier Player of the Year. He was recognized for All State Football two years, All Region Football three years, and All District Football three years. He was also recognized for All Region Basketball two years and All District Basketball two years. He has been a member of the Beta Club and the Spanish Club. Parker will be attending the University of Virginia’s College at Wise to study exercise science and to play football.
Kadence Brooke Keen, the daughter of Deanna Keen and Derek Keen, is number seven in her graduating class. She has been a member of the Beta Club, FBLA, the Spanish Club, and the Art Club. She has participated in volleyball, basketball, indoor and outdoor track and field, and soccer. Kadence plans on attending Southwest Virginia Community College before transferring to another college or university to become a physical therapy assistant.
Kedryn Hess, the daughter of Jeff Hess and Cheylynna Hess, is number eight in her graduating class. Kedryn has been a member of the FBLA, Gifted and Talented Program, the Radford Leadership Program, FCS, the Beta Club, the Art Club, and the Spanish Club. She was selected as secretary for FBLA. Kedryn has played varsity soccer for four years and has been a varsity cheerleader for one year. She has been a member of the varsity track team for two years and the varsity cross country team for one year. Kedryn will be attending Liberty University in the fall to study elementary education.
Jordan Hubbard, the daughter of Brenda Hubbard, is number nine in her senior class. She has been a member of the Beta Club, FBLA, FCS, SOAR, the Art Club, and the Spanish Club. She was a varsity basketball cheerleader for one year and has played varsity soccer for three years. She was selected for 1st team varsity soccer in 2023. Jordan plans to attend Southwest Virginia Community College and obtain a degree in sonography. She plans to become an ultrasound tech.
Zack Reynolds, the son of Stevie and Beth Reynolds, is number 10 in his senior class. He has been a member of FFA for one year and FBLA for one year. He has played football for one year and soccer for two years. Zack plans to take classes in diesel mechanics and welding at Southwest Virginia Community College.
