In the first week of the season, Peyton Musick of the year lit up the stat sheet with five touchdowns.

“Started week 1, and never stopped, he continued it week, after week, after week,” said head coach Todd Tiller.

Like a song from his favorite music artist Zach Bryan, Musick “burned, burned and burned” opposing defenses with 51 touchdowns through the air passing and 8 rushing scores.

“I couldn’t have done it without my team, my line, my wide receivers,” said Musick. “They helped me a ton, my whole team did, scout team on defense they helped me a lot too. I think it helped having a year to settle into the new offense and it helped us a lot.”

Musick was a key leader in helping Honaker finish 13-1 on the season winning their district and the region.

“He’s a big leader for us, offensively he is the general out there,” said Tiller. “We go as he goes, and what a great job he did.”
Adds Musick,”This team is a very work-hard team. We worked hard all summer, lifting, running, catching, and doing everything to be the best we could.”

A sweet “Musick”ial tune that’s not done with playing just yet. Musick is just a junior and he is already hungry for his senior season.

With the ultimate goal of a state title.

“It will be very important, it will be a dream come true for our whole team and everybody around here,” said Musick.
Tiller adds, “That’s a big plus to have him back, and that’s a huge thing for us next year, he’ll definitely be leaned on for his leadership next year and being the senior out there. We’re excited to have him back, we’re glad he’s back.”
