Parker Bandy

There was the 7-yard scoring strike 3 ½ minutes into the game to get the Honaker Tigers on the board.

Then came the 28-yard touchdown reception as several would-be tacklers were eluded on his way to the end zone.

His 54-yard grab midway through the third quarter resulted in the game-tying TD.

The final tally for Honaker High School senior wide receiver Parker Bandy last week in the Tigers’ 44-30 Region 1D playoff win over Patrick Henry: 10 catches, 191 yards, three touchdowns.

“He had one of the best games I have ever seen from a wide receiver,” said Honaker coach Todd Tiller.

Bandy is having the best season a pass-catcher at Honaker has ever had as well in rewriting the program’s record book as he enters Saturday’s Region 1D title game against Rye Cove with 1,238 receiving yards on 83 catches and 18 TDs.
