HONAKER, Va. - Musick-to-Bandy was sweet music for Honaker.

Peyton Musick threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns, all to Parker Bandy - who had 10 receptions for 191 yards - as the Tigers outscored Patrick Henry 28-8 in the second half to earn a 44-30 Region 1D championship game victory on Saturday afternoon at Fuller Field at EMATS Stadium.

Honaker (12-0) will host Rye Cove (11-1) in the Region 1D championship game next Saturday on its home field. The Tigers won the previous meeting, 40-32, in Clinchport on Sept. 8.

"It's on. It is going to be a heavyweight fight," Honaker head coach Todd Tiller said. "They gave us a heckuva game earlier and we are looking forward to it. We've got it here though so that is the big thing."

Patrick Henry (8-4) took advantage of a pair of turnovers and inspired play from quarterback Alex Brown to take a 22-8 lead on a 12-yard pass from Brown to Eli Delp with 28.8 seconds left until halftime. Brown also scored on runs of 2 and 1 yards in the first half.

"I thought if we could score somewhere around 15 or 20 seconds that would be enough, but it wasn't," said Patrick Henry head coach Seth Padgett, whose Rebels also got first half fumble recoveries from Landon Steele and Michael Jenkins. "They can score from anywhere on the field at any time with those guys they have got. They have got a lot of good athletes, they have a great quarterback in Peyton Musick. That is going to be a tough team to beat right there.
