HONAKER, Va. — Honaker head football coach Todd Tiller says, junior quarterback Peyton Musick does the little things, that separates a good player from a great player.
Tiller said, “Peyton’s work ethic, he comes to work everyday, he’s in the weight room everyday. You know this summer he probably spent eight hours here himself, either on the field or in the weight room.”

Working each day to be a team player.
“We’re very meshed together, we’re connected on another level. We’ve practiced hard all summer,” said Musick.
Tiller adds, “he’s (Peyton) grew as a leader in the last year and a half.

Musick’s first chance to put his leadership to the test, a revenge game against rival Lebanon, in the Tigers season opener.
Tiller says, “a big goal there for us was getting a little payback for last year.”
“We thought whole heartedly we should have won that game,” said Musick.

A Thursday night kick-off, the day before Musick’s favorite artist Zach Bryan dropped a new album.
Musick says about his music taste, “my favorite type of music, I like Zach Bryan he’s my favorite, I like country music in general.”
Musick would end up dropping his own set of hits, for a performance as sweet as a 90’s country song.
“It definitely was music to my ears,” said Tiller

Musick would throw for 211 yards and 4 TDs, and even ran for a score as well, for a total of 5 on the night, doing it all in the first half.
“Doing it all in the first half, had me blessed, I’m just blessed in general,” said Musick.
He says the performance wouldn’t have been possible, without his offensive line, and skill players.

Musick said, “we’re all connected, so we can do what we can do, and everybody can connect and figure out where they need to go.”
